BUF reinforcements inbound

It's been a while since I've updated the blog, I had been in graduate school and that was taking up a lot of my time. I recently started full-time employment and will have some more free time on my hands resulting in an increase in my productivity.



This update is a commission with more Very British Civil War BUF figures. The figure are from Empress Miniatures and Musketeer Miniatures. Load of character in these miniature and I had a great time working on them.

Old School GW Empire figures

There's no school like the old school! I've had these half-painted for a while and decided to knock them out. I'd considered doing an entire metal Empire army, but decided against it as I've watched various auctions on Ebay go for some ridiculous prices. So, in the spirit of those prices, I decided to sell this lot. They are $110 with $6 in the U.S and $9 Worldwide.

Otherworld and Red Box Miniatures

These are some Otherworld Goblins I painted for a commission, love the character of these miniatures!

Again, from Otherworld, are some firebeetles. The antenna were a bit of a paint to glue on! I sure hope they make it okay in the mail when these head across the Pond to England. I never really played D&D so these Rust Monsters were quite a new concept to me. Extremely interesting. Again, miniatures from Otherworld.

Finally, a couple of Red Box Games miniatures for my own collection.

This is Belegast the Bloodthirsty, if you like the miniature you had better get over to the website and buy him quickly. The miniature is going to be retired. I attempted to paint a skull face onto the helmet, but it didn't work out as well as I wanted. I'll be getting more Red Box miniatures for some fantasy skirmish action! Tre is working on his own set of rules for his fantasy world.

This is Einar March Warden Captain. I painted him up quickly, then was stuck on the shield design. I felt the "Norman-style" dragon worked best with the feel of this miniature. Again, I'm not sure I pulled it off too well, but I'm happy with the miniature overall.

If you are curious about the snow on the bases, it is a mixture of baking soda, white glue and white paint. I mixed it to a fairly thick consistancy and the globbed into on the base with an old brush and smoothed it out.

VBCW update

This is a Lancia Armored Truck from Musketeer Miniatures. Excellent miniature and, despite not having instructios, went together fairly quickly. I painted it with Vallejo Model Color Russian Uniform, washed it with black, went back over it with Russian Uniform, and then added highlights and dirt/dust.

A large group of Artizan Partisans, again going to see action in VBCW gaming. Love the character of these models.

Otherworld Goblins

These are from Otherworld Miniatures and are the first 8 of a commission of 12 that I'm working on. Some fantastic miniatures and I've enjoyed every minute!

VBCW Truck

This is a Dixon Miniatures Prohibition Era truck that is going to see time in VBCW gaming. The cargo in the back looks like material for bootlegging, but upon closer inspection is all material for guerrilla warfare. I almost put the driver on the wrong side!

These are all the figures I finished recently for a Very British Civil War commission (VBCW). They are a mixture of Dixon, Brigade Games, and Artizan Design miniatures.

These are from Dixon Miniatures, the first figures I've painted from this company. They are very nice and I really enjoyed the ones on the bicycles.

These are Gangster Molls from Brigade Games. They are excellent miniatures too, and I recommend them to anyone looking to add some females to their VBCW gaming.

These are from Empress Miniatures' Spanish Civil War line and represent the Parish of St. Martin. They do nicely to add some color and pomp to the VBCW. I've already painted a batch of 12 that these few go with.

Finally, is a pack of Artizan Design French Partizans. Excellent figures, but the one knelling is missing the hand supporting the sub-machine gun. A casting error I suppose.
